The liberation guide for recovering perfectionists.

Amber Barnes - Recovering Perfectionist

Hello Beautiful Soul,

I'm Amber, and I'm on a heartfelt mission to hold space for recovering perfectionists, because, well, I am one.

Perfectionism served me well in the corporate world, until it didn’t. In 2006, I was faced with tough feedback and an opportunity to work with an executive coach. Together, we made some good progress as I learned better ways to show up and relate with others.

But that’s the thing about perfectionists, we might learn better, more effective ways to be on the outside, but failing to address our inner world means ongoing suffering and warring with ourselves.

In 2011, I chose to liberate myself from corporate life and started my leadership development practice. Being a business owner had me face myself in a way I hadn’t before.

The old ways of overthinking, overplanning, and overworking were no longer sustainable. In my late 20s, I found myself face down in what felt like a midlife crisis—a paradox of perfectionism that I couldn't escape.

A lot has happened between now and then. Today, I have a very different relationship perfectionism. I took the long route home to myself, but you don’t have to!

Why Liberation?

Because I intimately know the weight of perfectionism, the illusion of control, and the exhaustion of constant striving. I understand the allure of the perfectly crafted facade and the fear of vulnerability. Now, armed with my own journey, I'm here to extend a hand and support you on your journey.

What I Offer: Breathwork, Coaching, Training, and Retreats

My approach isn't about fixing; it's about gently unraveling the layers, tenderly shedding masks, and guiding you to a place of self-acceptance and self-love. It's about coming home to yourself, feeling the feelings, and embracing imperfection as the beautiful, messy, authentic you.

So, if you've ever felt the weight of perfectionism or found yourself face down in your own version of a midlife crisis, please know you're not alone. I've been there, and I'm here to lovingly guide you through.

Let's embark on this journey of liberation together!
